Historical blacksmith gets back to living on rollerskates
HATCH – Hopper Shannon, a historical blacksmith living in Hatch, learned the trade by reading a book about it. Actually, his wife, Kate, read it aloud to him and he would absorb it and test out his new skills, one at a time. Later, he met the book’s author, Joe DeLaRonde, who was astounded that Shannon learned directly from the book, without a lesson.
